Blair Defeated By Parliament Over Counter-Terrorist Powers

Prime Minister Tony Blair has been defeated for the first time by parliament regarging his measure to let police hold terrorist suspects for up to 90 days WITHOUT charge. 40 members of Blair's Labour Party refused to support him.
Parliamentarians later voted in favor of a much lower 28 day dentention limit, up from 14 days now.
Blair told parliamentarians that it was their "duty" to support his measure.
If this would have passed, it would have been a huge infringement on people's civil liberties.
