Republican's Drowning?

The amount of corruption and incompetence in the Republican Party, particularly this administration, is downright overwhelming. It's bad enough that we easily have the most unintelligent leader in the world, who has trouble with the english language, and public speaking. George W. Bush has a heart the size of a pea, which has clearly been displayed during Hurricane Katrina, as well as countless other times. He has no concern for the global AIDS epidemic, and absolutely no concern for what's going on in other countries around the world. Bush has no understanding or care of women, minorities, or the poor. He places only Christian friends with large amounts of money in his administration, forgetting they have absolutely no experience in politics. He gives tax breaks to only the richest 1% of the population, while all the harworking, paycheck to paycheck folk sink lower and lower on his social and economic scale. He is truly a president with war and world domination on his mind. George W. Bush is a bully and fights with his machismo because he does not possess an intelligent mind.
During his administrations first term he layed rather low, except of course for his post 9/11/01 antics of "ridding the world of terrorists" by starting a war in a country that had nothing to do with the attacks on 9/11. But now the party has officially started. Fuck up after fuck up occurs. His re-election was the first joke. The Iraq war. No weapons of mass destruction found. Hurricane Katrina. Tax cuts to only the rich. Halliburton. Unemployment records. Growing deficits. Goverment benefits for low income families cut. The enviroment on back burner. Enviromental Protection Agency horribly run by his friends. Republicans using the USDA to pay off their contributors resulting in scary food safety policy. Against trial lawyers and lawsuits against big business. Oil ties in Saudi Arabia. Wins elections by accomodating Christian conservatives. Wants to take away a womens right to choose. Biblical foreign policy. Rigging the Supreme Court. The Patriot Act. Social Security. The list goes on and on...
Everyone is well aware that the political system is stacked in favor of those with money. Money buys votes. This is corruption. It stinks, it's rotting, and it's killing this country. If the people get pissed off enough, people power can beat money power. Politics is not something you can just ignore. It's everything in your life. Everything from what you are allowed to do with your own body, to your health, education, textbooks your kids in school study, to the qualifications of the people who prescribe your eyeglasses, to everything--you name it.
Fascism and Un-American are not words to just toss around. But there is something really fucked up and creepy about what is going on here. How many more examples will be needed? This administration is driving this country into a ditch. We have a couple of years to gear up for 2008. We have plenty of ammunition. Plenty of unhappy Americans willing to fight. 2008 we take this country back!

Tom DeLay Indicted By Texas Grand Jury!!

A Texas grand jury charged Rep. Tom DeLay and two political associates, with conspiracy in a campaign finance scheme, forcing the House Majority Leader to temporarily step aside, relinquishing his post!
The indictment accused DeLay of a conspiracy to "knowingly make a political contribution" in violation of Texas law outlawing corporate contributions. It alleged that DeLay's Texans for a Republican Majority political action committee accepted $155,000 from companies including Sears Roebuck, and placed the money in an account.
The PAC then wrote a check for $190,000 to an arm of the Republican National Committee and provided the committee a document with the names of Texas State House candidates and the amounts they were supposed to recieved in donations. The indictment included a copy of the check.
DeLay and other Republicans dismissed the charges as politically motivated by Democrats. (no surprise there!)
House Minority Leader Nancy Pilosi of California said, " The criminal indictment of Majority Leader Tom DeLay is the latest example that Republicans in congress are plagued by a culture of corruption at the expense of the American people."
--This administration is corrupt in Oh-so-many-ways. It's run on big money from big corporations fueled by power and greed, with a radical Christian agenda. The hypocrisy in the White House is out of control. They are constantly pointing out other countries corruptions,etc-but this country is being ran the same way. The Republicans only know how to play dirty and feel no shame in doing so, ironically praising Jesus along the way.
They are wounded. We need to keep punching until they stay down.

Quote of the Day

" I'm the master of low expectations."--(aboard Air Force One,June 4,2003)

Former FEMA Director Mike Brown Blames "Dysfunctional" Louisiana!

Mike Brown defended his role in responding to Hurricane Katrina, and put the majority of
blame for relief efforts on Louisiana Governer Kathleen Blanco & New Orleans Mayor Ray
Nagin.
Brown told a congressional panel set up by White House Republican leaders to investigate
the disaster, "My biggest mistake was not recognizing by Saturday that Louisiana was
dysfunctional." Democrat Rep. William Jefferson responded by saying, " I find it absolutley
stunning that this hearing would start out with you, Mr.Brown, laying the blame for FEMA's
failings at the feet of the governer of Louisiana and the mayor of New Orleans."
Brown denies accusations that he was too inexperienced for the job at FEMA, saying," I've
overseen over 150 presidentially declared disasters. I know what I'm doing, and I think
I do a pretty darn good job at it."
---Remember this infamous quote?......"Brownie, your doing a heck of a job!?"
I guess Bush's comment really went to "Brownies" head!
By the way, Brown is still on FEMA's payroll! I guess it pays to have your nose halfway up
the president's ass! ----I'd rather go broke.

Debate Burns On..Marijuana Flavored Candy

Lawmakers are cracking down on the sale of marijuana flavored lollipops. The California-based company, Chronic Candy, advertises that every lick is "like taking a hit"! But the company says the candy contains only hemp oil. That is what's starting another debate...hemp advocates say the candy makers are not being honest about what's in their candy and that publicity is hurting the sale of "legal" hemp products.

Chicago's City Council and Suffolk County New York both have passed laws banning the sale of marijuana-flavored candies. Lawmakers in Michigan, New Jersey, and New York also have introduced legislation to ban or control the candy.

What are these nutjobs in the city council worried about? This kind of novelty candy is only sold in head shops that require you to show i.d proving you are at least 18 yrs old. And really, if the lollipops actually made you feel like you were taking a hit,I'd be walking around all day with one in my mouth ! I'm not alone on that one. Besides, aren't the lawmakers who are concerned with scrubbing the shit out of this country with holy water aware that marijuana is a God made plant? Now,I know they would never imply that God made a mistake!

FBI Ordered To Devote Resources To Fight Adult Porn!

The FBI's Washington field office has begun to recruit for a new anti-obscenity squad. The new squad will divert 8 agents, a supervisor, and an assorted support staff. The focus is not on porn that exploits children, but on the kind that is marketed to, and depicts consenting adults. The initiative is a "top priority" for the Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales. One FBI agent, who chooses to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, said.."I guess this means we've won the war on terror, we must not need anymore resources for espionage." An experienced national security analyst said, " It's a running joke for us."
Well, it's a joke to me as well. What more ridiculous thing can this goverment pull out of it's ass? And our tax money goes to this? This is not freedom. This is proof positive that the United States is attempting to run on right-wing Christian gas. Anyone have a lighter??

New Addition To The Bush Family Boozers!

John Ellis Bush, son of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush & nephew of President Bush, was arrested in Austin, Texas early Friday on charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest. Bush, 21, was arrested at 2:30 am on a corner in Austin's 6th Street bar district. He was released on a $ 2,500 bond. - The Bush family should really rethink their whole "holier than thou" attitude.

Breaking News!- Bush Family Satanic Cult Revealed!

Next time your in church(if that's your thing) look up & admire the beautiful stained glass images of....."Whoa"!

This is not a doctored photo. It is actually real!! It has been blown up to make sure the eyes were not deceiving. This is so wrong, in so many ways! But I laugh everytime I look at it! Thought everyone could use a laugh right about now as well!

It kind of compliments the fact that I just finished reading an amazing book that I feel everyone should read, "The Book Your Church Dosen't Want You To Read" edited by, Tim C. Leedom. Religion, and the goverments idea of religion, is thrown in our face daily. But not many people challenge it--alas a book that really gives the reader another side. At the very least, it will make you think. And we need more thinkers in the world. I dont know about you, but I'm kind of tired of all the sheep following George "W.hat the hell were you thinking" Bush around blindly. I dont know....free thinking, intelligent people are just more attractive to me.

And The Winner Of "The Democrat With The Biggest Balls" Goes To....

Senator Charles Schumer (D-New York)!!!!!!!

I love this guy! Watching him drill the shit out of John Roberts put a smile on my face! This is the kind of guy we need leading the Democratic party. He showed no fear while questioning Roberts, and made many valid points. I especially loved his analogy of comparing Roberts' answers to that of someone answering ,"Many people like the movie Casa Blanca" when asked, " Do you like the movie Casa Blanca?"! Roberts needs to stop dodging questions and come clean already. It's frustrating the hell out of everyone (except Republicans)! You know all the republicans were telling Roberts.."Hey, dont say shit. Keep your mouth shut, get into the Supreme Court, then reek havoc on all the liberals once your in!"

Anti-Quote of the Day

" If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator." --George W. Bush (Dec 19th,2000)

Breaking News Out Of California!!!!!!

A federal judge in California has just declared it unconstitutional to recite the pledge of allegiance in public schools because it violates the seperation of church & state!!!! After 2 other sets of parents climbed on board the case/lawsuit the judge has ruled.
This case will probably go all the way to the Supreme Court for the final decision. Hopefully John Roberts will not be there if and when this comes before the court. Although Roberts has avoided answering all the questions from the Judiciary Committee that would allow us to know how he feels on issues such as this, it's obvious to most that he is a religious republican, therefore he may vote to appeal this ruling if presented before him in Supreme Court.
I happen to be very pleased with this ruling. I have never felt comfortable with anything remotely religious meshing with goverment affairs. To me, it's very un-american to force or throw in the face, religious things such as saying "One nation under God" during the pledge of allegiance. Mostly because this is America, so many different religions, views, etc are felt/practiced here..it is not fair to just assume everyone believes in God, or the goverments idea of God. It's about time.

Bush Takes Responsibility For Katrina Fuck-Ups!

At a joint White House news conference with president of Iraq, Bush said, " Katrina exposed serious problems in our response capability at all levels of goverment." He added, " To the extent the federal goverment didn't fully do it's job right, I take responsibility."
I wonder how all the Bush supporters feel now? Will they be singing a different tune, or will they open thier mouths, accepting the sock we just stuck in it?! Probably neither. I assume they will think it was mighty big of him. I, on the other hand, think that Bush's minions have been watching the recent polls, showing that Bush's ratings are drastically plummeting. Bush's comment about accepting responsibility for the goverments lack luster response to Hurricane Katrina was just a P.R. move. The facts and evidence were just too overwhelming for even Bush to pretend didn't exist. Or maybe I'm being too hard on the punk. Maybe Bush has done the right thing and accepted responsibility for the problems and failures of Katrina...Nah! Don't buy it! His advisors told him to take the blame so that he dosen't come off looking more like the Antichrist then he already does!
When asked whether people should be worried about the goverment's ability to handle another terrorist attack given the failures in responding to Katrina, Bush replied, " Are we capable of dealing with a severe attack? ( you know what they say about people who answer questions with the question--they are shady, &/or don't completely understand the question-what's not to understand?) That's a very important question and it's in the national interest that we find out what went on so we can better respond."
Is it just me, or did he fail to answer the question? How can we trust this shady, question dodging, inarticulate, bumbling, idiot?????========We can't.

John Roberts Dodges Bullets

The confirmation hearings on John Roberts' nomination to be Chief Justice of the Supreme Court started on Monday and continued today. Both yesterday and today centered mostly around 2 themes: 1.) The Republican members of the Committee shielded Roberts from very important questions about his judicial philosophy, while, 2.) The Democratic members clearly asking questions intended to find out Roberts stance on key legal issues, such as abortion and civil/equal rights.
I got so fucking frustrated with Roberts' continually dodging all these questions with, "I think I should stay away from discussion of specific issues", or "That's something that I'm going to have to draw the line in the sand", or, " I feel the need to stay away from a discussion of specific cases."
He is going for the position of highest ranking judge in the United States, and he dosen't want to make decisions or discuss specific cases? How the hell are we suppossed to know if he's qualified, or biased if he wont even answer one question?
Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Blackout in Los Angeles gets everyone all razzled!

Monday afternoons widespread blackout all across the majority of Los Angeles, including my home of the San Fernando Valley, had many people going into mini-panics thinking we were under some kind of terrorist attack!

I do admit it was strange and fishy at first. Girl's at my work were flippin' out and my apartment complex was all razzled by it. News helicopters filled the sky, sirens were heard all over, and the LAPD went on "full tactical alert". After the newest video from Al Qaeda (possible wanna-be) claiming Los Angeles is the next target, I guess I can understand. But sheesh people, if shit did go down in L.A. this was a pretty good indication, to me, of the panic it would create. People shit their pants when it rains here, so you can imagine! And this was just a blackout due to some incompetant DWP utility worker who hooked up the wrong wires! Der! I'd hate to be him right now!

FEMA Director Mike Brown fires himself!

FEMA Director Mike Brown resigns Monday saying it was, "in the best interest of the agency and best interest of the president." This after Brown was recalled back to Washington on Friday. He has also been accused of fluffing up his resume, which he denies of coarse.
So, our piece of shit president didn't have the "huevos" to fire Mike Brown, so Mike Brown fired himself!!

Bush family fishin' trip

Saturday, September 10, 2005

What we have learned from Hurricane Katrina:

1.) The United States cannot evacuate a city.

2.) If you are any race other than white, invest in rafts, intertubes, floaties, and life jackets--Because NO ONE is coming for you!

3.) If a terrorist attack were to happen (again) while Bush is in office-- We are so screwed!

4.) Probably not a good idea to exhaust all of the country's military & money on unnecessary & unwanted wars---you know, just in case we need that money for, say, a hurricane?!

5.) Bush's I.Q. is rapidly declining. ( I think we're in the negatives)

6.) FEMA sucks!

7.) When white people loot, it's called "finding" things.

8.) Would've been cheaper to reinforce the levees. ( Bush decided to use that money for Iraq)

9.) " Bush dosen't care about black people".

10.) Just because we're one of the richest nations in the world, dosen't exactly mean we're the smartest.

Impeach The Son-Of-A-Bitch!!!!

It's about time people! What else is it going to take? When spiders unite they can tie down a lion!!!

Quote of the Day

" The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall."-- Che Guevara

When Spiders Unite They Can Tie Down A Lion

Salt in Our Wounds

We have made so much progress in the last 50 years against discrimination. Now it looks like Bush has rounded up his conservative, religious troops, and they've brought White-Out and erasers!

Oh America! What have you done? Minorities will have a hell of a time with thier civil rights. Women's bodies will now be owned by the Supreme Court. Gays will never have equal rights, and forget marriage.

Bush has nominated John Roberts to replace William Rehnquist as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Roberts has openly said that Rehnquist was his mentor. So knowing that, we can assume Roberts will be, at the very least, similar to Rehnquist. (Roberts' record does coincide with this statement)

Now let's look at the voting record of Rehnquist.---Voted against Roe V. Wade.---Opposed affirmative action and policies intended to help minorities rebound after years of segregation.---Against the seperation of church and state.---Voted against gay rights. What a Nazi!!!!

According to John Roberts' record, he's not too fond of people of color either. Memos that Roberts wrote as an aide in the Reagan administration arguing against the constitutionality of affirmative action, as well as arguing for a scaled-back version of the Voting Rights Act are expected to surface from the Democrats criticism of his civil rights record.

Roberts, while an appeals court judge, also urged a narrow interpretation of the Commerce Clause, which is one of the tools Congress has to pass federal laws on many issues affecting civil rights.

To me, this isn't about Conservative Vs. Liberal. It's much deeper than that. It's about equality within the human race. It's about women controlling what happens to OUR bodies. It's about halting ignorance and hate--not progressing it.

Life is suppossed to move forward, not backwards. I'm angry, yes, but mostly I'm sad & scared. I'm scared to know that there is a large possibility that within some years I may not have total domain over my own body. NO man in the Supreme Court or the White House would allow someone else to tell them what they can or cannot do to thier own bodies! So why should I?

It's time for a Revolution people. All women, all people of color, gays, lesbians, democrats, poor, non-christians,- plus many, many more, need to come together as one and bring this shit to an end. Together we outnumber them. Together we can win.

Quote of the Day

" The modern politician has no defined nationality and no other idiosyncrasy than that of the market. He is North American in the United States, in Latin America, in Europe, in Asia, in Africa, and in Oceania. His only fatherland is Wall Street, his color is dollar green, he thinks in English and lives according to the Dow Jones."----Subcomandante Insurgente Marcos; EZLN

Oh no she didn't!!

Barbara Bush went to the Houston Astrodome to visit the Katrina survivors. Afterwards, she spoke on National Public Radio about her visit. She's quoted as saying, " What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this-- this (chuckles slightly) is working very well for them."

Are you shitting me? Is Barbara actually implying that the Astrodome's accommodations are fitting for the hurricane victims? Oh well, they were poor before, what's a little cot on the concrete floor of a sport's arena? These are human beings bitch! Regardless of race, color, or financial status--Barbara needs to stay at the Astrodome on a cot for just one night, then maybe her big, ignorant mouth might shut!!

George really is a son-of-a-bitch!!!!!

George calls for an investigation of.....Himself!!!

George Bush announced he will be leading an investigation into what went wrong with the federal and state response to Hurricane Katrina. I guess he won't have to look very far! He added that this isn't the time to point fingers. Ha! That's funny, seeing as they're all pointing at him!!

And this is what country?

It is such a sad mess down in New Orleans. I just watched a news clip of a woman with her dog on the freeway, crying how she wants to be evacuated but the rescuers would not allow her dog to go with her. Don't they realize that for many people their pets are their family? Just when I think the situation can't get any more sad or depressing, I see, read, or hear something more.
You know things are bad when FOX News anchors are having to pacify it's own field reporters from bashing the hurricane relief efforts!! Geraldo & Shepard Smith looked as if their heads we're going to explode from anger, continuosly asking, "Where is the help?" They seemed obviously upset with the goverment response ( or lack of!). How Ironic!!!!
And if I see Bush hugging another black person displaced by Hurricane Katrina again I'm gonna hurl! He dosen't give a shit about these people , and posing for photo op's will not keep me from seeing right through him! Kanye West was right.
Oh, and check THIS out!...FEMA is promoting Pat Robertson's "Operation Blessing" website!! Robertson founded Operation Blessing in 1978. A few years ago he suggested that " earthquakes, tornadoes, and possibly a meteor" would be God's punishment for Gay Pride events!!!!!!!!!!!!
So what, Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for......(feel free to ad your thoughts here)
Michael Moore wrote an open letter to Bush which was spot on, stating..." I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dyke?"!! Funny shit. Also he stated...."And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the 3rd year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix the levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them--BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!!!"

If The Shoe Were On The Other Foot

If this happened in Beverly Hills, do you think the goverment & Bush would wait 5 days to rescue "Whitey" from their rooftops???
