Chavez Hits Bush Where It Hurts

Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez has warned he is taking potential steps to cut off oil shipments to the United States, in the event Washington goes too far campaigning against his rule.
Chavez cautioned Friday, " The U.S. goverment must know that if it crosses the line, it won't be getting Venezuelan oil." It seems Chavez is reacting to Thursday's call by Condoleeza Rice for an international "united front" against Venezuela.
"I have to say that I've begun taking steps on the matter, but I won't tell you what they are," Chavez said.
He added, " They think I can't take these steps, because we won't know where to place our oil. Aha! That's where they are wrong." " Many countries ask us for more oil and...we've had to answer that we can't give them any more because, among other things, (of) ...the million and a half barrels of our production that goes to the United States."
Rice said Chavez was a "challenge to democracy" and that Venezuela's close ties with Cuba were a "particular danger in the region".
Chavez said that, " The plan has been launched. They are trying to get Spain, France, Germany and all of Europe against us."
Referring to Bush, Chavez said, " Mr.Danger, you form your front, and we will form ours. It dosen't matter what the U.S. goverment does to us; we will respond in a Christian way: 'If you slap my cheeck, I will offer you the other'. I have the moral strength to resist the old cynical and immoral empire, and we shall defeat you, old empire."
The only OPEC member in Latin America, Venezuela currently produces some 3.2 million barrels of oil per day & the United States is it's top buyer. Venezuela also remains the 4th largest supplier of crude oil to it's northern neighbor, selling it about 1.5 million barrels daily, & through Citgo, has 3 refineries & close to 14,000 gas stations in the U.S.
So it looks as if Chavez really does have something on "Mr.Danger"! I don't know about you, but I find it refreshing that there is actually a leader in this world willing to stand up to Bush. And Chavez has threatened Bush with the one thing Bush holds dear to his heart...oil. Am I considered a "terrorist" if I heart Chavez?
