Close Guantanamo!

Source:The Jordan Times

The U.N. has finally joined the group of protests raised by the international civil society against the U.S.-run Guantanamo Bay prison.
According to a report by 5 independent experts commissioned by the U.N., the detention center for "terrorist" suspects in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba should be shut down immediately, and all detainees should be either tried before an independent tribunal or released.
The report documents a huge list of gross human violations committed in Guantanamo, from arbitrary detentions to torture.
The document is 54 pages, and affirms that force-feeding the detainees on hunger strikes and regular resort to excessive violence are also equal to torture.

The prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba should be shut down immediatley & a thorough investigation into the claims of abuse & torture be launched. It is totally sad & disgusting that the United States has ended up imitating the worst aspects of the very systems it says it wishes to "democratise".
